Initial Public Offering (IPO) Investments

An IPO is when shares in a company are first offered for public sale.

Investment in an IPO gives investors the opportunity to buy into young companies at a relatively early stage in their development and can present the potential for financial gain, should that company grow and be successful.

IPOs vary dramatically in size from companies large enough for immediate listing on the London Stock Exchange FTSE 100 (e.g. Standard Life and Rightmove) to smaller companies valued at a few £million or less.

It can often be difficult for private investors to participate in IPOs as very few, if any, are offered directly to the general public and it is common for offerings to be made solely to institutional investors.

This is where Mansion House Securities can be of value. Through our network of experienced City professionals, we have access to investment opportunities in IPOs which gives us the ability to invite our clients to participate in these new and exciting investments.

However, it should be noted that such investment opportunities can be highly speculative, with the opportunity for high financial gains, but with the risk of losses to the total value of any investment. Please see our section about the risks to investment opportunities offered by Mansion House in emerging businesses. As a client of Mansion House Securities, an investment advisor will be assigned to you and will be ready to discuss the potential risks and benefits of IPO investment with you.
